After the interview, jot down some notes of the questions asked and anywhere that you felt you could have responded better. When you’re stressed, you’re more likely to misread an interviewer or send confusing or off-putting non-verbal signals. You should avoid sounding too aggressive and overambitious: ‘I want to become managing director in three years’. What the interviewer really wants to know: Can you operate effectively in a team? She is likely to die, and so you should save her first. The interviewer is looking to learn about who you are in the context of work. Be sure to give specific examples from previous jobs, such saving the company money, helping increase profits, completing an important project, etc. Your ability to establish rapport and present yourself as the right person for the position is critical. During your interview, relax and sit naturally, but don’t slouch in your chair or lean on the interviewer’s desk.
